ACTION PISTOL
Informal centre-fire action pistol shooting: You do not require a Black Badge for Sunday informal practice. All discipline styles are welcome (IPSC, ICORE, IDPA). All members are welcome to come out and try this for the first time with a friendly group of shooters who can offer tips and instruction on safety and rules.
Or, if you are a seasoned shooter, come out to practice and offer your help to those new to the sport.
Equipment required:
- centre-fire pistol of revolver – 9mm / 38 special caliber or greater
- holster that covers the trigger of your gun
- at least 3 mags or a set of speed loaders / moon clips
- standard safety equipment (eyes and ears)
Shoot as much or as little as you like. Stages tend to be from 15 to 24 rounds and we shoot them multiple times, with variations worked in (weak-hand, strong-hand, shooting on the move, from behind barricades, etc). Targets sometimes include movers and steel plate. These are practice nights and not sanctioned matches.

As a new member of FRPC and are interested in learning some basics of action pistol shooting and have little previous experience drawing from a holster you are welcome to come out and give it a try with a friendly group of shooters who can offer tips and instruction in safety, equipment styles and basic rules of each discipline type. Practice has resumed and happens Sunday mornings on C Range about 9 am till noon. We can offer some individual instruction to get you started.

The Frontenac Rifle and Pistol Club Board of Directors has determined that the Club can accept 60 new members per year, to cover our normal membership attrition and allow for a manageable increase in membership.
Groups of about 20 new members will be invited to attend one of our introductory sessions, spread out during the year, according to their position on the waiting list. Normal sessions will occur around April, July and October.
The waiting list will be computerized and will close automatically at 120 applicants and re-open when the number of applicants falls below a certain threshold.
